View Full Version : 23 year old seeking some advice! Please :)

I have lurked hairloss forums for years now, This one seems to be my favourite so I thought I would post on here.

I began becoming obsessed with my hairline at about 16/17 as I used to have a fringe and I cut it off and thought wow... my hairline looks weird.

I don't think my hairline has actually receded loads to be fair but it has definitely gone back a touch. The thing is I have become so obsessed with it that I really need to either do something about it or 'get over it'.

I have a question though, my hair looks fine in natural light, a bit thinner at the temples but under a harsh light it looks bad! I hate it :(

I am seriously making myself ill from it :/ I check my hairline probably 40 minutes a day! That's crazy. It effects me so much! I'd appreciate any advice!

Also, my left temple has always been thin! It's so weird, I had my passport photo done when I was 14 and my hair was pretty much buzzed and my left temple looked thin. If anybody wants to see that photo let me know! Also, my dad went completely bald by about 23 but my hair is a lot different to his. I have the exact same texture of my mums hair, who's italian! I have also used minox for a couple of years on and off but I don't think its done much and I tried propecia for about a month but it gave me sides :/
Thanks for anybody reading this!
here's some photos!

As for me, your hair looks good. I don't see any thinning. Have you consulted any specialist before trying those treatments?

Thank you for the reply RanDave! I haven't as I don't know any derms near my city. I'll have to have a better look. Is it normal for the hairline to look thinner under light? I have always had thick hair but since growing it a touch and when I stick it up at the front it looks thinner under light :/ Looking back at photos I think I have definitely thinned at the front a bit but I don't know how much I'll lose :/

What dosage of Propecia have you tried?
