View Full Version : Dr. Carlos K. Wesley (NYC): "Erasing" an FUT donor scar with FUE

A 28-year-old patient wanted to "erase" the donor scar from a previous FUT (http://www.drcarloswesley.com/follicular-unit-transplanting/) session that was previously performed at a different clinic. Using a 0.75mm motorized FUE (http://www.drcarloswesley.com/follicular-unit-extraction/) punch, Dr. Carlos K. Wesley (NYC) (http://www.drcarloswesley.com/curriculam-vitae/) transplanted nearly 300 grafts into the scar which can be viewed 10 months after the procedure.

Is fue scar reduction generally this effective?

Also, what grade does the patient have his hair...what...number 2 by the looks of it. Very impressive.

Thanks for your comment, rhysmorgan. FUE scar camouflaging for FUT scars is quite effective. It's an especially nice option for patients with limited donor hair supply who would prefer to use their beard hair as the FUE source of hair coverage into the donor scar. In this case, the patient is able to wear his hair at a #2 length even after having undergone a prior FUT session.
