I have always had thick hair and it is difficult to style. In an attempt to remedy this situation, I comb it everyday with a fine-tooth comb. Considering that the hair grown with regaine is generally pretty flimsy, I'm sure that this is having an adverse affect on my hair.
Should I switch to using a wide-tooth comb? Or brushing my hair? I'm guessing straightening it is out of the question.

A fine tooth comb would definitely pull out some hairs, I would go to a wide tooth comb, or none at all. Can you just use product and your fingers? Or a really soft brush? Also straightening your hair is very damaging, I would also not go that route. Sometimes a really good barber/stylist can cut it short and show you how to style it. Hope this helps.

Cheers for the input. I think I'm going to invest in a wide-tooth comb.

Wider toothed combs and brushes definitely cause less trauma to hair and is what I recommend to my patients. Keep in mind continued pulling on hairs will cause permanent damage over time.
