My Hair Transplant with Vinci Hair Clinic

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share my hair transplant journey with you all so here goes!

I'm 23 years old and have always had a high, widowed-peak hairline. At the age of 20 I noticed my hair was starting to receed. As I wore my hair flat I was able to cover the thinning area's over but in my own mind I was always incredibly self-concious. I found this effecting my life in various different ways. For example, I stopped playing football, going swimming, staying over friends' houses and even the extreme of going on holiday!

At the start of this year I decided enough was enough and started looking into hair transplants. After doing around six months of research and looking into different companies, I booked my hair transplant with Vinci Hair Clinic (London). I decided to have my surgery in their Malaga practice and have a few days in the sun as well. I was set to have 2,500 grafts but sticking religiously to my scalp elasticity exercises, 2,800 grafts were able to be extracted.

I will now upload before and after pictures and will post every week for the first month. I will then give monthly updates to let you know how it's going.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch as I realise there is probably a lot of information missed out for this post (mixture of excitement and painkillers!)

Apologies for the poor quality images, however I will endeavour to improve the quality in coming updates.

Attached are pre-op pictures, post-op pictures to follow

Are you taking any medication to maintain your current hair? Otherwise, it seems like you'll continue to need HTs as you loose more hair. 23 is quite young.

            I agree
The HT seems quite agressive ( ie low ) but good luck

Hi AJ, Thanks so much for sharing your ongoing experience with us all. So you have had 2,800 grafts done. What type of surgery FUE or FUT?
If it was an FUT, how is the donor scar at this point, can you show photos of that too?
It seems that you will have a great head of hair in time-it wasn't bad to begin with but I can certainly UNDERSTAND why you went through with your HT. What was the cost overall?? Thanks my friend..Artista

                    Hi Artista,

The surgery I had was 2,800 grafts FUT.

The donor area was a little painful the first few days after surgery (nothing more than 5 out of 10 to give you an idea). With regards to the scar, I'm thrilled already and I haven't even had the stitches removed yet. It is extremely difficult to notice as my hair covers it easily. I will upload a picture for you to have a look at, keep in mind that I have moved my hair intentionally to reveal the stitches.

Although I do have quite a lot of hair, I have always struggled in the temple areas and after years of sweeping my hair to one side to cover the bald areas I thought enough was enough.

The total cost was £4,800 and that included a two-night stay in a fantastic hotel in Malaga Spain and transfers from the Airport. I hope this answers all your question Artista. If you have any more please do not hesitate to get in touch!

AJ, sorry for the delay in responding... GREAT photo of the donor scar. It does NOT look bad at all. In American cost , you spent approx.
$ 5,984 USD...but as you've stated that also "..included a two-night stay in a fantastic hotel in Malaga Spain and transfers from the Airport.."
Not bad. How are you doing today??
My wife and I will be flying out to England next year
(London/Bristol/Liverpool) ,,it would be cool to meet up with you and see first hand how well the work is..Thanks again AJ

Congrats, man and best of luck. I can sense you're happy and enthusiastic about your HT. Good decision -that many seem to be too scared to take- to not waste more years of your youth and wait around for a miracle cure sometime in the not so near future.
Did most of those grafts go into the frontal part of the head?
How did you find that HT center? Are they good? I know the price is good. Under 6,000 dollars is a hell of a deal. That's about $2/ graft. Which is really good considering you had some kind of a vacation too in a sunny place.

BTW, how much scalp stretching exer. did you do (how often and how long/day)?
Do you happen to know how much scalp was removed (the strip in inches)?
