Will I be going bald over time? HELP

I'm 27 years old and I've been making myself nuts over this for about 2 years now. I'm just worried out of my mind about losing my hair. I know being stressed out is worse but I can't help it. I don't smoke and I don't really drink alcohol. I eat pretty decently on every day basis. Anyways, I've been noticing it since I was around 25. My hair is so easy to pull out. A slight grip on my hair with 2 fingers and I can pull out 2 or 3 pieces every single time. If I brush my hair, I can find up to 25 hairs in the sink. It's frustrating and I'm worried sick about it. I've been watching my hair since that time and nothing really any worse since. I do have a receding hairline, mostly the right side and my crown seems to be thinning but I took a few pics to ask you guys and see what you think. For some reason, it looks so much worse in the pic b/c of the lighting and since it's wet. I hope it's not too bad. Feel free to ask any questions.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like you've got some thinning in your crown. Your hairline does look receded, but it's not bad...may just be a "mature" hairline. I'd go to the doctor and get on finasteride. Since your hair loss is fairly recent you might be able to regrow a little and you'll keep the hair you already have.

Yes, you are losing hair. Sorry. But you have caught it fairly early. Visit a doctor - get on finastride.

Do you think I'm going bald though or can it be a small hair loss?

It entirely depends. It may just advance where you have a bald spot at the crown. It may be a bald spot and also recede in the front. It may be 5 years. It may be 15 years. No way to tell unless you see a dermatologist (even then it's not exact). He'll ask about your family history. Don't just look at your dad or brothers. Look at your male cousins and ask when/if your uncles or grandfathers started losing their hair. That's the best indicator of how your hair might look at a certain age. He may also ask to do some tests. Then it's the old Rogaine and Propecia song and dance if you want to take that route.

            Hi pHeb,

Your hair line is fine for a male. You do have thinning in the vertex (crown) and mid-anterior, which is an indication that you are balding. How fast is any ones guess. If this bothers you, you need to see a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. In this early stage you do stand a very good chance of arresting it from getting worse with medications - and possibly growing back some of what you have lost.

my god Tracy... by your standards, half of the people shouldn't even be here...

                Anyways, yes you're balding.

Good news is that the big three can maintain and possibly improve your hair for the next 5-10 years.
After that those five years there is a very high chance that one of those hair loss companies will come up with some effective treatment.

Perhaps someday you might try actually reading what she writes.

It's actually awful. I'm surprised he hasn't noticed it himself years ago...

I'm a male, and I think his hairline looks fine, too. Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with the difference between fact and opinion.

His hairline is a normal and natural adult mature male hair line, which is completely normal for an adult caucasion male. He is thinning in the mid-anterior and vertex - and I did make sure he knew that. None of us can tell him how fast he is thinning - but it is happening.

They are not my standards, anyone and everyone can read the charts just as easily as I can. But yes, there are some men in this forum who really do not need to be here. I certainly wouldn't say half - but some.

yup , its a receding hairline. You are losing hair. Its sad but true. Time for you to give a visit to a good dermotologist and get on a routine. Hopefully, you wil stop this.

It does look like you're thinning, but you still look good. Propecia is the way to go if you really want to keep what you have.
