23 yr old losing hair and mind.

okay so this is my story if anyone cares,

i first noticed a little hairloss when i was about 19, didn't really think much of it until about a year ago. my hairline started receding and i started noticing hairs all over my bathroom floor. over this past summer things seem to have gotten even worse to the point where i could just be sitting down watching tv and randomly see a hair fall on my face. i wake up and see hairs on my pillow and even touching my head i would look at my hand and see hair. i'm losing my mind, i don't know what to do? trying nizoral and rogaine but it just seems to be getting worse and worse, only been a week since ive used to two things but it doesn't seem to be getting better. sometimes it feels like im about to have a mental breakdown because of my hairloss. my dad is bald so i can understand why i am losing my hair but i feel like i'm too young and in my prime to be losing my hair.. unfortunately i don't have a doctor or insurance so i'm pretty much SOL. figured i can try a walk-in clinic and get a prescription for propecia since poeple have had results with that. but i'm terrified of the side effects. and i hate the way rogaine makes my hair all greasy looking. someone help me? what can i do?

Hey we care cuz everyone is going through this. Don't freak out. I did for about a week and it was not worth it. Relax, and yes try to go to a walk in clinic or get some insurance. About propecia, many people use it and don't have any side affects at all. If you see any side effects at all after using it, just stop. Simple as that.. If you choose to stop propecia then you need to just let your hair be and go have fun. You don't have cancer so go about with your hobbies. That's what you have to do.

i offered the same advice in another thread...visit a hair restoration clinic. they dont take insurance and tend to be very cheap if not free for consultations (usually $50). They can prescribe finasteride and develop a long term plan. What region are you from? Try to visit a reputable surgeon.

I would try to get on the meds asap. They have the biggest effect on hairloss. Personally, I think nizoral and rogaine just help aide and dont have much effect.

jjp87, you're lucky in that you're young enough you could wear a hair system and no-one would suspect you're balding. That's the fear most men have over 35. Having TOO much hair on a hair system.

i'm from ohio, and yeah the nizoral and rogaine don't seem to be doing much, not even with my confidence.. hopefully i can get on propecia, atleast with that i might be able to feel better about myself..
