    propicia/drinks!!

    hi group.
i have been taking propecia for 10 years.
it has worked great, after 2 hair transplants,!!
now, after MANY people visiting, seem nto find myself drinking 4-6 drinks a day!!
    i am not an alcoholic!!
but see a loss of my hair line
contacted the propecia hotline, and thet see no adverse effects!!
maybe its my imagination!,but see a thinning!!
does anyone see/think,that drinking in excess, has caused hair loss?

Is the loss on your hairline exisiting hair that was not transplanted?

Not heard of anyone losing their hair from consuming too much alchohol.

Are you on any meds other than for hairloss?

I think I read somewhere that the efficacy of finasteride is lowered when you drink alcohol.

I don't know the exact details or whatever or if it's true. But I think it might be.

Propecia and alcohol would both be metabolized by enzymes in the liver so it is theoretically possible that there could be some sort of negative interaction if you are drinking excessively- though I've never heard of an actual example of this. However, a lot of people believe that the benefits of Propecia diminish over time and what you're experiencing may simply be that.

I would consult with the doc that prescribed you the Propecia for his opinion.
