Can dutaseride make your hairloss worse?

Has anybody heard of this happening? This is my current situation:

I have been on propecia for 2.5 years with fantastic results. I've grown a lot of hair back and my hair loss had completely stopped.

I've been looking into getting a hair transplant and sent a few pictures of my hair to my clinic as it is in another country. The doctor noticed I had BUPA and recommenced I try dutasteride and show him my results after 6 months.

Well, once I began taking dutasteride once daily I simultaneously stopped taking propecia as I believed the dutasteride would take over. Over the next 3 months I lost a lot of hair. Once I hit 3 months of dutasteride and saw I was still losing hair I started taking propecia again each day, along with my daily dutaseride. After 6 months on dutaseride and 3 months of propecia I was stilling losing hair with no regrowth whatsoever so I panicked and stopped taking dutasteride completely.

It has been 3 weeks since I have stopped taking dutasteride and have only been on propecia, I am still losing my hair. I am becoming worried that the dutasteride has permanently ruined propecia for me.

Has anyone heard of something like this occuring?
Will propecia become effective for me again?

I've heard of propecia losing its effectiveness for people overtime but I find it coincidental that it would lost its effectiveness around the same time as I introduced dutasteride. On the other hand I've been taking propecia for 3 months with dutasteride and 3 weeks without it and yet I'm still losing my hair
