Ain't that the truth. You can cram as much positivity down someones throat about the state of the hair loss community, it wont' make a lick of a difference; we're screwed for years to come. It's funny how the optimists try to make chicken salad out of chicken shit.
It's the same with Replicel...all they are now talking about in their press releases are new non-hair loss related treatments they are working on. They know they are onto nothing with their hair loss research and so they are quickly jumping ship and talking up these other treatments to keep their shareholders and future investors happy.
Can you really blame them, though? The problem is simply so intractable that its actually surprising anyone made any progress. They might as well be the Ancient Greeks trying to develop atomic energy, even though they had a surprisingly good idea of the atom. They simply gave it a good shot, but ended up proving the skeptics right that it simply can't be done anytime soon.
Most medical scientists and doctors working outside of their field find these methods to be extremely barbaric to begin with, as cell division should be accomplished naturally from within the body. So this really surprises no one.
Histogen aren't going to present already presented data at a conference. Conferences are a place to share new data and findings.
Also, that's the point in companies. You can do more than one thing at a time. At the end of the day the trial process is going to take the time it takes.
The problem is that people here get excited from every successful phase 1 clinical trial, or even worse - successful pre-clinical trials.. and start throwing optimistic numbers, like "its 2 years away from being released" and stuff like that"
Anything that didn't pass FULL SUCCESSFUL PHASE 2 trials, isn't even worth thinking about..
We should have separate forums for each pre-clinical / phase I / phase II clinical trials..
Histogen, Replicel and Aderans are treatments based on our knowledge in the 2000s...we have come a long way since then. Let's look at some MPB breakthroughs post-2010:
1) Tsuji labs hair germ method
2) Jahoda/Christiano's hanging drop method
3) Cotsarelis PGD2 discovery
4) Cotsarelis FGF-9 discovery
5) Taiwan University's EVAL scaffold
6) UPenn's technique to expand fully functional Epithelial stem cells
7) Role of WNT-signalling in hair follicle regeneration
8) Role of BMP singnalling in hair follicle regeneration
These are only in the last 3 years and they are HUGE! We are NOT even talking about the field of regenerative medicine as a whole. The smallest book you'd find on tissue engineering starts from around upwards of 2000 pages! We now have hundreds of biomaterials to choose from some are even biodegradable! We have much better scaffolding technology, not to mention revolutionary breakthroughs such as iPS cells and STAP cells...
I can write a 10 page essay on how far along we have come and how close we are. So please guys, don't ignore the facts and paint yourself a a dystopic and hopeless future. Things are going pretty good for us in the research world.

First of all, thank you Desmond for Cheering people up here.. I think everyone here appreciate it. But we should not delude ourselves, Thinking that effective treatments could be out in less than 10 years is delusional, and well many of us will be already norwood 5-7 until then.
The question is what treatments will be able to grow a full head of hair for people like us - this thing is still in question..
The treatment we all hoped for was Histogen - because it was safe, effective and was supposed to be released soon (2016) after phase 2b. but well.. doesn't seem like that right now.
Is there any treatment (from what you've mentioned above) that could be out before 2020?! (6 years from now?) or even 2024 (10 years from now)???
I really doubt it...

In 10 years?! well i hope, my dermatologist said to me that such treatments (in this case - hair cloning is considered as a cure rather than a treatment) can take a lot of years.. i hope he's wrong.
