    Thanks for the news, Desmond.

If fin comes out as a topical, i'd use it along with oral fin 1.25mg, dut 0.5, and Rogaine. But 0.25mg, isn't that too little.

As long as it does NOT get into the bloodstream, there shouldnt be any side effects.

I work in a research lab for a large pharmaceutical company. I can assure you, the molecular weight of a compound is not modified by the vehicle. What would be the point of using a vehicle that renders your compound ineffective?

They said the topical lowers serum DHT levels to comparable levels as the pill. It's well established that the side effects of finasteride are due to decreased DHT serum levels. So, the topical will have the exact same safety profile and side effect issues as oral finasteride.

The reason they're developing this is not because it's side effect free. Rather, it's due to the DHT inhibition in the skin which is markedly higher for the topical than the pill. Think of it as a more direct and efficient way of targeting dht inhibition at the follicle. Should, theoretically, provide a better result.

It's good news for those that can tolerate finasteride.

Do we have any inkling that this topical fin might be a possible product to buy at some stage and not just a research topic? Would they reveal the former at the congress?

And BTW thanks for creating the thread, Desmond84.

Thanks a lot Desmond, that's a really interesting find. There are a lot of really interesting experiments going on there. What concerns me is that a lot of these scientists are simply concerned with testing these findings in a lab (and on mice) and not doing anything to bring them to human application. But the ones that are looking create new methods to regrow hair in humans using their findings, God bless them. But what excites me is that in some of those experiments, certain elements such as IGF1, HGF, and FGF2, that have been proven to stimulate hair growth in some of these experiments, are autologous I believe. Therefore, they can be obtained from the human body, and can be used to stimulate hair growth without the need for extensive and exhaustive clinical trials. They can maybe be administered in a process similar to PRP. But a lot of these experiments are really exciting and this conference is a hell of a lot more innovative, transparent, and applicable that that stupid bullsh*t ISHRS conference.

Oh, and one last thing...........I don't see why doctors can't produce their own versions of topical finasteride. Or better yet, why can't Merck produce topical versions of finasteride, especially since they know the side effects that oral finasteride can frequently cause.

Anyone going to the event, please ask about P-2074 and CG210, or at least pay real attention, we want to know if these are going to be commercialised.

I think I read somewhere that you can already purchase GC210.

Alto Pharma focuses on the development and commercialization of unique products with a focus on Dermatology, Nail Care, and post surgical support.

I believe this is it? Correct me if I am wrong though.

Is topical fin hard to make? What vehicle is needed for this?

2014 World Congress will be in Korea.

I looked through the PDF which is supposed to have all the prsentations, I don't see anything about Histogen being mentioned (did a text search through the document, nothing came up).

Which one of the three (histogen, aderans, replicel) is the most promising so far?

                              More NEWS

                              Hey guys,

I've got more exciting news for you guys! 2013 seems to be the year for hairloss! These are some of the other presenters we haven't mentioned yet:

                              1) Aderans: Dr X Wu will be presenting at the Hair Research Congress (May 5th) AND Prof Kurt Stenn at the International Investigative Dermatology (May 9th) regarding Aderans Ji Gami method. Sounds like they've got something to share!

                              2) Aderans: Dr Xu will also do another presentation regarding Aderans' recent discovery that: "Human scalp derived fibroblasts are multipotent and trichogenic".

                              3) Dr Young Wang Sung: will provide an update on the current state of the art dermal papilla culture systems.

                              4) Tsuji Labs: Dr Toyoshima from Japan will be presenting regarding their breakthroughs last year! He might even give an update on where they are now Title of his presentation is: Fully functional hair follicle regeneration through the rearrangement of stem cells and their niches.

                              5) University of Pennsylvania: Dr Thangapazham will be presenting his works with Dr Cotsarelis regarding "Enhancing hair follicle neogenesis in bioengineered human skin substitutes".

                              6) Columbia University (NY): Dr Higgins will be presentating their findings which involved "Human hair follicle neogenesis using microenvironmentally reprogrammed dermal papilla cells"

                              7) Shantou University (China):
Dr Lin and co from Shantou university have discovered a "Calcium microcapsule, which could act as a scaffold for building artificial dermal papillae". (The scaffolding is the key to true follicular neogenesis!) He will also present another lecture on: "New development in unlimited hair follicle transplant"!!! What on earth is this about LOL

                              8) Mount Sinai School of Medicine: Dr Clavel has found a way to Reprogram regular skin fibroblasts into hair inducing dermal papilla cells"! Very cool

There are still some presentations I haven't had a chance to read! If I come across anything exciting I'll let you know

We are now exactly 14 days away from the first batch of these presentations.

These sound very exciting and all point to the fact that we are getting closer and closer to true hair multiplication! There are 100s of researchers working on different angles of tackling this problem! Not giving up and staying positive is the key! To 2020
