Thumbs up Replicel Results Double Digit Growth

Article here: http://www.replicel.com/further-anal...linical-trial/

Replicel may still be a very viable treatment, with some of the subjects having over 19% improvement in hair growth. If you consider that this was purely a safety test, then I imagine they can take these results and look at what caused these subjects to gain so much hair, and from there refine the treatment.

Thoughts?

It was not "Purely a safety test". That was just an excuse to steer focus from the disappointing results.

It wasn't "purely" a safety test, but it was mostly and primarily a safety test. That's the nature of a phase I/IIa trial; it's not an after-the-fact "excuse."

There is a lot of evidence that they had much higher hopes as far as efficacy, although the main hope was for it to be safe, they partly already knew it was.

Certainly they did have higher expectations. But since it was primarily a safety trial, they had no opportunity to adjust any of the variables that might affect efficacy. That's what full-fledged Phase II trials are for.

that is a valid argument-- if they had no opportunity to adjust any of the variables that might affect efficacy. This may or may not be true. I'd need to research it, or I'd need it explained to me-- with citations.

The only double digit growth I'm getting is when I wake up in the morning. Lol.

The thing is that they were able to achieve very substantial growth in some patients. Which would mean there is something at play, which can be looking into in the next phases due to its safety being confirmed.

Post RepliCel Presents Further Clinical Data and Corporate Update at its Annual Meeting

The Phase IIb clinical trial will be designed to optimize treatment regimen for hair growth. Several different treatment regimens will be tested, including different concentrations of cells and different treatment schedules, including single and repeat injections.
