Default Fue Without Shaving Head?

I need about 1000 grafts and want to do fue but don't want to shave my head as I have several donor scars. Dr. Charles said he could do about 600 without shaving my head. While I would still like more this would be enough to make a substantial difference in my hairline. Spex suggested I get a traditional HT to fill in the other scars as well as the frontal area. I then spoke with Dr. Coles consultant out of Atlanta who claims that Dr. Cole can do up to 2000 fue grafts without shaving my head. This seems like the way to go although he does charge 10 bucks per graft. My concern is how can any doctor take out 2000 fue grafts without shaving the entire head?

thanks,

Richard

Dr. Cole says that its a complete myth that people have to shave their head in order to have FUE. He stresses out that shaving of the head is completely unnecessary.

Thanks for the video. That was very informative. Do you know of any other HT Doctors that have this belief? I want Dr. Cole but he is booking two months ahead(I have some personal reasons why I can't wait that long.) Also, I find it hard to believe that he is the only Doc in the states that can go a good fue procedure.

thanks again,

Richard

You're welcome.
Not really. I only came in touch with Dr. Cole on this forum, and what I liked about him straight away is that he pays attention to details and he seems to be the only surgeon around here who takes time to talk in detail with potential patients, also beeing very much in touch with latest research and having honest objective approach. I see plenty of people respect him as the Father of FUE.. Last info I've heard is that Dr.Cole is on his way to Cyprus to work with a team there and also he should be opening a clinic in London, so he seems rather busy.. but maybe You should send him an email or something.

For most surgeons out there FUT is still the golden standard, and I don't know if and how many put FUE first and are experts at FUE.

I can't share any personal experience though. I'm poor and cannot afford a hair transplant, so I'm only writing my general observations and impressions.

That seems quite difficult to achieve - harvesting more than 600 to 800
or so grafts by FUE without shaving the head - unless your hair is very
long, in which case it may be possible to obtain 1000 to 1200 or so
grafts.
