I had the same thing happen to me you can shed for quite awhile. Remember the hairs that are weak are gonna fall out and be replaced with stronger thicker hairs. I shed like a dog in summer but in all that shedding i noticed my hair getting thicker, its very gradual may take atleast a year for you to see a real difference. Also if your using Rogaine 5% the two are a great combo that will really work. If your on Rogaine that will also cause you to shed for the same reason dont let this get you down. keep it up and you will see a difference nevermind the hairs that are shedding this is a good thing cause more healthy hair is coming behind it.

Some initial shedding/thinning is quite common in patients who start taking Finasteride. I many cases the shedding slows down after a few monts and actually helps to maintain density over a period of time. Hang in there for 6-12 months and give a chance to do its job.

I know it is easy for ohters to just say don't worry things will get better. For those who are actually experiencing this negative phemomenon it is very dramatic and concerning.

hey Dr Glenn. I just wanted to take some time to thank you. I really appreciate you being so active on these threads, and always having an input. I am sure you are very busy with life and work, but you still make time for some moral support and honest feedback.
