film Dr. Jeffrey Epstein / Post-Op FUE Procedure with Beard Donor Site

Shown in this video is Dr. Epstein with his patient one day after the first part of a follicular unit extraction (FUE) procedure during which hairs were extracted from the beard. The patient presented with scarring on the back of his head, and therefore had a limited supply of donor

Looks good , look forward to seeing the results , appears that more and more Drs are very recently adopting the Beard Fue method for limited donor patients . Did you use a manual punch for the beard hair if so what size was the instrument ,also are there any differences to aftercare not shaving etc
Thanks Doc

Interesting case Doc.

Do you have any results showing beard hair growth post op from any surgery previously performed?

We have been using both beard and chest hairs as donor areas for FUE grafting. While quite time consuming, the quality of the hairs can be quite good. A manual hand-held punch, 0.8 mm in size, is used for graft harvesting. Four days after the procedure, there are essentially no signs that the procedure was performed.

Sounds interesting, can you show us some grown out before and after results from several of these cases?

Thanks for taking the time to reply Doc , very interesting for me as my donor area resembles a ` roadkill `!!... I have been researching into the use of beard hair for repair, and that seems to be standard size of punch used .

I heard that after extraction of hair from the face the extraction site shrinks by 50% in size would this be correct ? also heard that often the beard hair does not shed but continues to grow ,have you found this to be the case in the patients you have used this procedure on ?

Can you use an automated punch on the face or is it not as delicate as manual ,either way which one do you prefer and in your expierence which gives the greatest yield ?

Thanks for your time Doc love to see the results

You're welcome. Sorry to hear about the scarring along the donor area, but this is usually the ideal place to be placing beard hairs. Once the hairs are removed they do not regrow and I prefer to use the manual punch.

Sincerely,

Hi Doc ,

Thanks for the reply , what I meant to say was does the grafted beard hair go into a resting phase once transplanted , or as I have heard ,does it continue to grow , sorry for any confusion .

This subject is of huge interest to me , have you got any close ups of the chin /face extracted area as my concerns are facial scaring also any pics of the actual beard hair grafts a few months on

Thanks for your time Doc
