Default No HAIR growth AFTER 5 months HT (help!!)

I had my procedure done five months ago and it seems like nothing has taken. Nothing has even popped through the surface. This worries me because I've already had one procedure on my crown and that worked. This is a different doctor who I thought was better. He added density throughout the top of my head and redid my hairline. I am extremely depressed and I dont know what to do. My followup isnt until next month. I wake up every day just hoping it would atleast start so I know it isnt a failure.

Does anyone have any advice for me? Anything would help.

j14nelson,
At 5 months you are still very early days so try not worry too much yet mate. If i were you arrange a consult sooner with your doc for reassurance however 5 months is early days mate, truly it is.

We all grow differently so all things considered you have reason to be aware but not too concerned at this stage.

There are numerous guys whos growth has started off slow , this is a fact.

I am not going to trawl the net looking for them to prove a point, however possibly this patient who i have no idea which doc he went to session is a complete failure and he can expect no more growth at all.

5 months is still early though in the big scheme of things so assessing the outcome of whether " something has clearly gone wrong" at this early stage is a little inaccurate.

If we know a little more about the surgery then it might help ie was it a mega FUE session or strip? As we know FUE mega sessions tend to end in failure and low yield even though patients get promised the world.

Knowing the doc or clinic he went to will defo help cast some light on the matter so if he is willing to share that info possibly based on experience we can help him more accurately.
Best

5 months is too early to judge as you may just be a slow grower, you need to hang in there for a few more months and see what happens.
Do you have any pictures of before and now so we can have a look as usually you cant see the growth as you`re looking at your hair constantly and don`t notice the subtle changes taking place.

Hope it all works out well for you.

It does happen that you can have no or very little growth at 5 months. I had 2 identical men, un-related, but really identical...who each had 2500 grafts by me on a sequential Thursday and Friday last year. At 7 months, one guy had essentially a head full of hair, probably a 90% result. The other fellow, who showed up either a day before or day after that first guy, had zero growth. He was leaving the country of course and was disappointed, but at about 14 months looked pretty similar to the first guy.

Don't give up hope. But do see your doctor.

I would hang in there j14nelson!
I am at 6 months and just posted some pics. I couldn't tell at 4 and 5 months that anything had grown until I took some pics and compared them to my pre-op pics. I thought....after looking at others at 5 months... I would see some substantial growth. However, I didn't. I was a little scared and then I remembered reading on here that we are all different in how we heal and grow. That gave me the patients I needed to wait it out. Now at 6 months I can see some real growth. Weird!?!? Amazing what one month can do for an HT.
Maybe take some pics and compare them to your pre-op pics. You might see a change.
