A HT is no good without fin or Minox?

Hey guys

I am currently saving for a HT so I need advise on one aspect that is troubling me.

Before I read these forums I was ignorant like many others about hairloss and HTs. I heard and believed that hair from the back and sides of the head was immune to hairloss and DHT and once grafted up top it was permenant. Embarrasing I know

My question is this. Is it useless getting a HT without being on some DHT blocking meds? and do all HT Dr's advise ppl to start on Fin and Minox?

I'm trying to fight hairloss but dont want to touch Fin and even then its not easy to get where I come from.
