As someone who very well may be trying fin in the near future, I'm seeing quite a few guys say they switched from 1 mg to 0.5 which cut the sides and heavy shed. Granted, the switch was after they had been on it a while, so I'm not insinuating a temporal effect nor biological gradient/dosage effect. I'm wondering if I shouldn't start with 0.5 daily, or even maybe less. I'm hearing such mixed things about dermatologists, I almost feel like just saying **** 'em and go with my own slow, carefully moderated approach. Is this totally asinine?

I've read people suggest to start Finasteride gradually over time increasing the dosage. To reduce or eliminate shed, shock to your system and lessen the chance of experiencing sides. I can't say for sure if this works or not though.

Well with a bio background, it seems reasonable. If it puts my mind at ease, that's good enough for me. I'll start a thread once I do.

Mini update

First time since I noticed my hairloss I'm feeling somewhat happy with my situation. I have no head itch what so ever. My hair feels stronger and no longer get 10-20 hairs fall out when a run my fingers through my hair. Shed has dramatically reduced. I get about 3-4 hairs in the shower with a good shampoo scrub. Grease levels are back to normal I would say. Hair starts to look greasy around day 3 with no shampoo, tho I now shampoo everyday with baby shampoo/niz on Mondays and Fridays. Feeling good
