I only signed on to post because I can empathize with you. I would avoid Accutane at all costs. You know I hate that stuff and my hair got worse every time I used that PoS drug!

I would recommend a couple of alternatives before you decide to go back on Accutane.

Topical Clindamycin :http://www.acnetreatmentlab.com/topi...cne-treatment/

I used this in HS and I thought it worked very well. I wish I would have stayed on this rather than Accutane

I was also prescribed Tetracycline before Accutane. I worked ok but I thought my first treatment was better.

I also saw a dermatologist when I was 27 for razor bumps on my neck when shaving. He prescribed me Accutane again. He also said Accutane doesn't cure acne for some people and that some have to take it in small doses forever.

Retin-A didn't work for me but I'd rather have kept my moderate acne than suffer the diffuse thinning I have from Accutane. I'm now taking biotin for hair health and so my acne has flared up again. So now I'm balding with acne. Awesome!

Life sucks. Badly.

Do I go on Accutane again? Do I risk taking it and losing more hair!? Will the Finasteride stop futher hair loss!??!?

What is more important, perfect skin or good hair? WHY DO I EVEN NEED TO MAKE THIS CHOICE!?? LIFE IS SO UNFAIR!

DEAR GOD, IF YOU'RE LISTENING, PLEASE MAKE IT END!!

I'm so afraid of taking Accutane again and going NW3 or having diffuse thinning. Will tapering on work? I'll only be taking 20-30mg a day.

I feel so depressed now. I'm going to keep fighting this for a few more years, but if it all fails then there's no point in going. Right now I feel defeated.

All of this has confirmed one thing: My genes are defective. I have moderately bad skin that is resistent to topical treatments. I will never have children. I refuse to pass on these genes. The world will keep on turning without me.

Couple tips I would recommend for acne:

1. Try a vegetarian diet, low in sugar, dairy, and saturated fats(If you can eliminate these three, that is even better, but I know it's hard to). Omega 3's are important though.
2. Drink plenty of clean water.
3. Switch from heavy weight lifting to cardio instead. For some reason, when I did just cardio, my skin felt great.
4. Try to lower stress.
5. Research Dr. Mercola and his website, to learn how he cured his acne with all natural approach.

*Be careful of accutane, and please research the side effects of this potent drug beforehand. I heard of a lot of serious side-effects it has.

Best of luck,

Have you tried switching up your diet? My skin got better when I switched from dairy to soy. I've also been using a cleanser and moisturizer from my pharmacy called Spectro.

I use Spectro cleanser, drink _plenty_ of water, have cut dairy completely, only eat whole vegetables, meats, and still have terrible breakouts. ****k though.

I've said this before but drinking around x5 mugs of hot water a day cleared up my acne within just afew months, really was miraculous. But saying that I still have backne that I can't seem to shift and it's bring me mad. Can't even go swimming as I'm too ashamed to take my top off in public and in 27!
