What were some of the forums that you used, if I may ask?
I have found one surgeon that I think looks really good, and I was planning on having a consultation with him soon. If I link it do you think you could take a look and let me know what you think?
There is another company near me that is sort of like that Harley thing in London - a group of surgeons and has a very commerical feel to it. Personally, I don't like that sort of setup, but if they have the best results then I should go there. It's just so hard to know, as every surgeon has some bogus #1 in the UK/Europe etc award that they got from somewhere.

I still think you should expect a post op recovery of a couple of months! That's unrealistic, my plastic surgeon said it depends on your gender, age, skin thickness etc. But 99% of surgeons say it will take up to a year.
when I get home and on my laptop I will send you the links of the forums, I don't have them bookmarked on my phone.
I'll have a look and give you my advice but I'm no expert, I can only give you my advice based on my experience.
Are you serious about a nose job? I hated my nose and thought 'nothing I can do about it's then one day I thought '**** it I want a nose job' done my research and didn't think about it until like 2 days before. If I did I would have talked myself out of it. I still can't believe I have had a nose job...just seems like something I'd never do lol

I don't really know about a nose job. I think if I ever get one it would be a really minor thing - nothing big. It would probably be to perhaps might it very slightly smaller, make it a bit straighter (actually it is already "straight" but has a very, very slight curve in one part. Basically I would just want to define it), and possibly make the tip a bit thinner. Nose job is the least of my concerns at the moment.
Right now I am more focused on the lower portion of my face. I believe the results I want can be achieved by a mild orthodontic treatment for a bimaxillar protrusion (very, very slight) and probably in combination with a very slight chin and jaw implant. The changes wouldn't be massive, but it would give me a much stronger appearance in profile. Right now I don't like that side-on my mouth appears to stick out a little bit, and therefore makes my chin and jawline appear weaker.

To be honest, plastic surgery to give you very slight improvements probably isn't the way to go. Like I said, its a big expense, big commitment, very uncomfortable and you'll probably have swelling for a year or more so you're nose would probably look worse for a year or more. Plus, if you have a nose job and the nasal bone is broken then it will never be as strong as before, so rugby is out of the question for me!!
I had my nose job because, to be honest, I had a big nose beforehand, (i'm half italian so maybe thats why!!) A nose job, when all the swelling has gone down) will make a big difference to my face i believe. But I'm not so sure slight improvements will be that noticeable. I mean people notice a big nose, but almost no-one notices a slightly weak jaw line only you.
You will always find slight faults in your appearance and I think the people who are the happiest are people who accept them / don't care. People who constantly find fault in themselves end up having too much plastic surgery and look like Michael Jackson.
I don't mean to dissuade you, but after your chin surgery if you keep finding slight faults with yourself you will probably say 'looks good, now i'd look better if my nose was improved slightly' so then a nose job. After the nose job 'I'd look better if i didn't have a single wrinkle on my brow' so a brow lift.... It's a dangerous game and plastic surgery is addictive

"A study appearing in the Annals of Plastic Surgery has found that while many who suffer from body dysmorphic disorder (BDD) seek cosmetic procedures, only 2 percent of procedures actually reduced the severity of the psychiatric disorder. Physicians, however, continue to provide requested surgeries to people suffering from the condition despite the likelihood of a poor outcome."

BDD is rubbish, basically anyone wanting to improve their appearance could be said to have that.

I have considered the risk of that happening too, but I have since worked out that no, this is ALL I want done. I know what I am trying to achieve, I know how it can be achieved. I strongly believe that I won't be doing more than what I've already laid out here.
By the way, do you have those forum links?

No, it applies to people obsessed with the perception of improving their appearance. But of course, one of the common reactions of BDD sufferers is denial.

I've done BDD tests online and everyone comes back with a "no". I don't have BDD, I simply have things that I want to improve.
Bumping for forum links please.
