When you pluck a hair, the hair regrows. This is because of cells on the bottom of the hair follicle. When you get a strip surgery or FUE they cut out all the way under and around the bottom of each follicular unit. This is to remove the before mentioned cells on the bottom of hair follicles. They then transplant said cells into the front of your head. The cells regrow hair there, but unfortunately there is only a hole left in the donor.
Dr. Coen Gho (illustrated above as jesus christ) does the same thing as FUE. However, he uses special tools that allow him to leave some cells behind. These cells have been found to regenerate entire hair follicles or even entire hair follicle units in the donor extraction sites. The extracted part also regenerates a follicle in the recipient area, like a normal FUE or Strip surgery.

also, there is a debate about if the cells left behind regenerate 1 hair, or form the entire 2-3 hair FU that was originally there. one forum user that had many two hair follicles prior to the treatment documented that his regenerated hairs in the donor were two hair follicular units. Still there is debate.
