Default Am I losing my hair? 18 Male

Hello, so it's 2AM right now and I'm having a full blown panicattack.

I was diagnosed with GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) a few weeks ago and I just got over a thing that had me depressed and worried for a year and now I'm starting to freak out about my hair!

I'm 18 years old, I've had an itchy scalp for a few years and I've started using shampoo for dandruff. I haven't noticed any significant amount of hairloss but when I look in the mirror all I can see is a balding hairline. I've noticed that the hair on my temple area is receding and I worries me a lot!

Does this look normal to you, a mature hairline perhaps or is it sign of balding?

All males on both mom and dad's sides have had great hair and kept it for a long time, my grandpa on my moms side i 70 and has a lot of hair left and my dad is around 60 and also got a lot of hair left.

Do I need to get this diagnosed? Is it a bad idea to start using Minoxidil? Perhaps get a better diet? I take vitamines daily.

    Please help!

Maybe you are losing your hair. You can go to a derm and get a proper diagnosis, or take pics and compare every few months. It seems like you are just going to worry about it so I would say just go to a derm soon and see what is going on.

Yes there is hope. The treatments we have are not the best, but they do work for most that use them. You just have to be on top of your situation and if you are really losing your hair, take action. Don't do like many, including myself and wait until the problem gets beyond repair.
