How long did it take for finasteride to stop your hair loss?
See title. How long were you on it before you could say "my hair probably isn't changing from where it is now / hasn't done so for months"?

can take 12 -18 months and best results are seen around the 2 year mark. So even if it looks like nothing is happening by 6 months keep going on it (providing you have no sides) you never know, on month 11 you could notice a difference

2 months in, it completely stopped my hair loss. It gradually slowed down first in the first month. By the end of the second month, it was stabilized entirely.
No significantly cosmetic regrowth has happened, but no cosmetically noticeable hairloss either. I've been on it for 1 year and about 8-9 months. I wish I had some noticeable regrowth, but oh well, i'm stuck wearing hats until someday I could afford a HT.

It will vary from patient to patient. To start seeing any real benefits you are looking at a minimum of 4-6 months in my opinion.

It's interesting for me, i was shedding like crazy a few months ago, definitely started thinning out(I was a NW2.5 in Sept, became a NW3 with diffuse thinning by april/may). Ever since going on fin over a month ago, I don't think i've shed at all in a while, I used to find hairs all on my pillow about 2 months ago, have hardly seen any hairs at all these days!
I'd definitely say it's stabilizing my hairloss, we'll see if it actually helps to reinforce/regrow anything though. I think the hope i have is because I have a tonne of vellus hairs on my hairline, so we'll see if it regrows them as if that's the case I'd go back to NW2 possibly for a long time.

I noticed my hair loss stop shortly after month 4. I started on fin as soon as I noticed my hair loss started. I hardly lost anything. I'm 4 and a half months in on fin with no side effects.

How long have you been on it? You may have to wait up till 12 months to see your hair loss stop. That's what my doc said.

Its been years I already quit from using it and shifted to food supplements instead as I am experiencing a lot of bad side effects.
