Really ****ign scared, can you get fin sides like overnight?

Ok so I've been on fin for about 31/2 months now, and i've posted saying i've had no sides. Which for the most part was true, but I started asking myself do I really have NO sides? I think the past month or so my libido has gone down a bit and my erections haven't been full strength(like still fully erect, just not as firm). When i do my business it seems i get bored quick and loose it. I just chalked that up to the depression and anxiety i've been going through(only partially related to balding) But this past Wednesday after a not so great masturbation I tried to go to bed, told myself it was only my nerves. While lying in bed I had an epiphany about how ****ed it would be if i was one of those guys who got permanent ED. It hit me so hard and so fast with such clarity I woke up panicking and had to go for a walk to calm down. Since then(now three days) I've had NO libido, no sexual thoughts and can't seem to even get myself hard at all.

Is this even possible, can this even happen to someone who had none to pretty minuscule sides over night? I'm betting its mostly in my head but all I can say is this scare has got my priorities straight, I'm gonna start tapering off and never ever risk my sexual health again.

I mean I'm 21 and still a virgin, god im so scared I ruined my whole life.

Its probably the finasteride and yes the side effects you are describing are normal which is why I caution men on taking it given the potential for erectile dysfunction.

I take Saw Palmetto typically twice a day at 160mg although earlier this year I left for vacation for 2 months and didnt bring any of my Saw Palmetto pills. In about a months time I noticed my libido was through the roof.

I would suggest getting off of Finasteride for some period of time and waiting for your sex drive to come back to normal. I'm sure it will if youre still capable of getting the juices running through your balls, so don't worry, its most likely the finasteride just having its shitty side effect that affects many men.

So consider this: is taking Finasteride worth the risk of erectile dysfunction considering the prize is basically maintaining hair?

If I were you, I'd look into using RU58841 and getting it from a reputable supplier along with a proper vehicle. I havent heard of anyone experience a lower sex drive because of it.

I get that the sides are normal to fin but is it possible to literally get them overnight? Like I said since my freakout I don't think sexual things or get horny, I can't get my member erect AT ALL, like fully flaccid. I'm almost positive its in my head though because less than 72 hours ago I was able to masturbate and reach climax fine, only once since like I said my libido was a bit low but still able to have a perfectly normal fap.

i was on fin for a little over one year--i tried tapering down to 0.5mg every other day but my sides still continued (loss of libido, weak erections, etc) so i had to kick it. i went through days of thinking "man, i shiould just get back on and it'll pass." but the sides never let up. face it, some guys can't tolerate inhibiting their dht. my sides have left since quitting.

relax, and taper off over the course of a month--don't go cold turkey--it will shock your system too much. start taking 0.5mg every other day and do that for a couple of weeks and then taper off even more until you are down to taking nothing.

I've said this before in other threads but if your nervous or anxious you will not be able to get an erection. If your looking at porn sites or trying to force yourself to think sexual thoughts just to "test" your libido it's not going to work, sexual desire is something that comes naturally.

It sounds like what you have is a form of performance anxiety, I've had it myself in the past and I wasn't on any medications. It could be fin sides but it sounds like your scaring yourself into paranoid erectile dysfunction.

Fin doesn't sound like a good drug for some who is already experiencing anxiety, maybe leave it for now and try it again when your older and more confident in yourself and your own sexuality.

Yeah i've decided to start tapering off philippe, I started taking .25mg for about a month and a half and then went up to .5mg due to worrying about my hair. Since Wednesday i went back down to .25 I'm gonna do that for a week or so, then start taking it every other day, then every three days and so on.

I think you're right about it being in my head Marshmalow, since I was able to masturbate fine on Wednesday and then i had that little panic attack thing and since i've been trying to force myself to get hard to prove it too myself, all it's all I think about.

But like I said even if it's not sides and all in my head this experience has made me reevaluate some things. And hair just isn't worth a risk to a healthy sex life, ever. Like I don't even have a girlfriend but life would feel so empty if I never found things sexy again or could masturbate just enjoying the idea.

Dude. If you are really concerned you should talk to your doctor about it. It sounds more like you are having anxiety issues more so than sides from finasteride. I'm personally skeptical of a lot of the people who have reported sides. If you look at the rates of sides experienced in the trials and long term studies, they don't seem much more than the placebo groups.
Also I keep reading about how people should taper of the drug, did this advise come from a doctor? It's not like heroine where you'll go through withdrawal. I don't know if the reasoning is that the sudden rise of DHT levels to normal is supposed to break your dick or something, but it sounds hokey. It should take several days for your DHT levels to rise back to normal anyways if you just stop taking it.

Dont simply get off of it if it had a really positive affect on your hair.

go down to 0.5mg a day(for say 2 weeks or so) and see if that helps(as that inhibits a few percent less DHT.) If you still experience some kind of sides, go down to 0.25mg a day. IF you still experience them there, then yes, get off it. You'll most likely go back to fully normal especially if your sides are already pretty minor right now.

It's extremely common for sexual dysfunction to be mostly in the mind. Hence the phrase 'performance anxiety.'

My personal belief is that at least some of these guys who have permanent loss of sexual function from fin have a psychosomatic component to them.

Fin does cause sexual sides but in the vast majority of men the sides should go within about three months of stopping the drug (along with the rest of your hair).

In your case, the fact you went from some sides to total loss of function makes me think yours is psychosomatic. You need to talk to your doctor but I would consider stopping the fin altogether and getting your head sorted out - anxiety and depression and both super-strong libido killers.

You will likely find your sexual function returns. Worry about that first, then you can decide what to do with fin, whether to keep taking it, and if so at what dose etc. But cut the fin for a month or so would be my advice. You need to not just get it out of your system but give your body (and your mind) time to revert to normal. It takes some weeks for the body's receptors to downregulate again to deal with the normal levels of DHT.
