Default Placebo effect or Regaine doing what it says on the tin?

Hey folks,

To cut a long story short, lost my beloved grandmother in January this year after she was seriously ill for six months. It was quite a traumatic time for all of us. A couple of weeks after she died I noticed my crown thinning. Couldn't be sure whether it was caused by stress or male pattern baldness. My paternal grandfather was bald, my father started balding in his 30s and my brother who is in his late 20s is almost bald. I am in my late 30s so I just put it down to genetics.

I started using Regaine back in April and the hair on my crown has regrown completely. The only doubt I have is whether my hair would have grown back naturally without the Regaine treatment if my hairloss were due to the stress of losing my grandmother.

I have been using Regaine for six months now. If I stopped using it to see if my hair loss was actually down to stress or if it were due to male pattern baldness all along, could I restart the treatment if my hairloss recommenced and would it be equally effective as before or do you only get one bite at the cherry?

Thanks in advance for any advice,

Jonny

I'd be interested to hear an experienced answer to this too.

One thing I would say is that you'll want to gradually taper off Regaine if you do indeed decide to stop using it. Coming off suddenly can cause a shed in itself, so that could potentially give you the wrong impression.
