After years of obvious signs, I've started to do something
HI,
27 year old here who has been receding for almost a decade now (!!!) but I was always able to comb it over to where nobody noticed. Now my crown is fading. I noticed first when I was 23 but nobody else did, now my friends are starting to notice.
I bought the walmart version of rogaine almost two weeks ago and have been pretty consistent (missed some mornings, don't like the greasy look that further exposes balding). Anyways, I've DEFINITELY noticed some shedding and was wondering at what point will I notice improvement? How long does the shedding phase last and if I'm not one of the 85% who benefit from rogaine will the hair I've lost from this rogaine ever come back?
Thanks in advance. I look forward to hearing from you guys and hopefully having a little success in this hair regrowth business.

I guess it depends on how your body takes it. I shed for about a month or so and it stopped. I've been on it for about 3 years, and I can't say if I experience any regrowth but I do think It halter my hair loss quite a bit. Just make sure you stick threw it and don't stop using because you might shed what you gain. I guess it takes up to a year to know if minoxidil or rogaine is working for you. I will also advise you to see a hair specialist and try to get on propecia/proscar. I had experience a little side effects for 3 months but it went away.

Unfortunetely, there is not exact time table for each patient. Some patients do not experience any shedding (The lucky ones ). It seems to work for most patients , but not all patients. ( Similar to Propecia) The time it takes to take effect, stop shedding, and maybe get some regrowth varies to a large degree between users.
