Whoa, whoa, whoa, make no mistake about it, that was a beautiful poem, and you're going far in the poetry business. It just wasn't scientifically accurate or haiku is all.

"Great big mammals with great big tales" doesn't sound as good though....

Very creative, I like it. They do not quite qualify as haiku though. A haiku consists of 17 syllables in three lines; 5-7-5.

EDIT:

I stand corrected. They are actually 5-7-5.
