Am I going bald? - Age 21
Hello all,
I had severe anxiety last semester, was taking 19 hours in college, had a terrible living arrangement etc.. I was on a beta blocker and anti depressant. I noticed my hair started to feel dull and I thought it was from the drugs so I got off of them and my hair returned to normal.
About two weeks later the dullness came back with avengence. My hair became hard to manage and it seemed that the actual shafts had become thinner. Then the shedding started.
In a matter of months I've shed tons of hair. Mainly in the shower and on the pillow. You can now see my scalp at the crown and it feels fine to the touch.
It seems to be thinning from all over. My hairline does not seem to have receeded, but it's hard to tell. The hair on my legs and arms also seem to feel different and are noticeable thinner. The hair on my head is dry and fly-away all over the place.
Am I going to shed all my hair away?
Thanks,
James

Do you have any baldness in your family? Also, have you seen a doctor? I just could be stress.

If there absolutely no family history of baldnes then more than likely your hair loss is due to other issues. I would see a doctor to help you determine your hair loss cause. Only a doctor can determine if your case will improve

Some guys lose hair and can't point to a single member of their family who doesn't have a full head of hair, but it seems like you might have something else going on and I advise seeing your doctor.
Are you thinning at the sides and back of your head too?

That's crazy talk, genes have been documented to skip over 5 generations. Just because he doesn't see anyone in his family have it, doesn't mean he doesn't carry the gene

Go to this thread. This guy claims to not have had any hair loss in his family going back to the 1800's. He also states that he has family members with photos to prove it.
