Before joining this forum, I knew several guys who are taking Finasteride and none of them have experienced the possible negative side effects. Most of those guys are taking the 5mg dose for their prostate but they all also have moderate male pattern hair loss (NW3, NW4 & NW5) or worse.
Since joining this forum I have read many post from younger guys who have mild male pattern hair loss (NW2) and I observed that these folks complain about side effects more than the NW3's NW4's or NW5's. There are also many posts from young guys who do not have MPB but want to stop, prevent and reverse their adult mature male hair lines. These are the guys who complain about side effects the most.
Unfortunately at this time I do need to point out that the words
some,
most and
all do not mean the same thing. I need to do this because there are some readers here who insist on using these words interchangeably as if they do mean the same thing, especially when they are reading posts that I have written.
Anyways, to get back on subject. Another poster pointed this observation out so I started paying more attention to it. I think that it is reasonably safe to theorize that the less a male needs this medication, the more likely he is to experience the possible negative side effects. The more posts I read and the more I learn about the posters themselves, the more this seems to be the case. I feel this observation is significant enough to consider it as a possible explanation for the dramatic rise in complaints about Finasteride.
Please note that I cannot take credit for this observation. Another member made it and I just confirmed it through my own observations. That other member did not want me to say who he is.
