What is the latest on body hair to scalp transplants? Is more of this being done by reputable doctors? And if so, what have the results been.

Anyone have experience with beard hair transplant to scalp or any other body hair to scalp transplant? Would appreciate some input on this topic.

I have seen a few that worked fine ,i am talking about beard hair by the way .
Apparently chest hair is harder work as you have hairs spread out in a larger area etc .

I am getting a 3500 graft FUE in october where i will have 1000 grafts of beard hair on the crown as my donor hair is not the best .
Another thing i heard is that 1 beard hair will cover an area that 2 head hairs would cover due to its thickness which is a bonus .

Another thing about beard hair is you get less shock loss .

Obviously beard hair can only be used in certain parts of the scalp but i know a doctor that had to build a hairline in a VERY extreme case .

Thanks for the info. Who are you getting it done by and what is the cost. Ive been in touch with Dr's Umar and Cole. Umar wants to do 4500 grafts getting whatever he can from scalp donor which is not much and the rest probably 3000 from beard. Cole wants to try 500 from beard first to see how it takes. Umar more aggressive and Cole more conservative. Not sure what to do. Had 2300 fut in Nov 2011 and I'm a NW6 so I'll definitely be needing bht to get a half decent look. Can't wait for a cure because I'm too old now.(61). Good luck to you. Please post your experience on this.
