Default Pain killers not working during Fue

I recently had a 2000 graft fue procedure which I think will be a great result. During the procedure however it was the worst pain I have ever felt and I've had some pretty bad injurys in my time. Primarily the pain was during the slits where I could feel every single puncture. The surgery was over 2 days and on the second day even the spray bottle to clean off the blood was painful. The doc provided extra pain killing injections but they just didn't work.

My question is whether anyone else has experienced this. I'll not need another ht for quite a long time if at all but at this point if I needed another mentally I don't think I could do it.

Obviously your surgeon didnt use enough anaesthetic... They should have asked you if you could feel anything to gauge the appropriate amount required.

Who was you Doc?

Did you do 2000 FUE in one day ?

Spread over two days. Ive had various minor surgeries before I.e skin cancer removal where the anaesthetic has been fine and for my ht the doctor did provide more than enough anaesthetic. I'm just wondering whether during a ht some patients are unable to be properly anaethecised on the scalp.

There are other forms of anesthesia that potentially can be used to numb/block nerves in the scalp and other regions in the body. Some are longer acting than others.

Did you raise your hand or stop them to discuss the pain level?

Well now you can rest and heal and wish you the best as you recover.

Would love to get an MD's input on this one. There are conditions where patients do not resond to local anesthesia but as you mentioned you've had procedures before so that might not be it. Is it posible you've developed a resistance to them? It's not out of the question. I'm very surprised they continued the procedure with you in that much pain.
