Default Then and Now

I started lurking around various hairloss forums a few years ago because of the plethora of hairloss treatment infomercials...and I thought my hair simply didn't look like it was when I was younger.

And, man, my maternal grandpa went balding pretty badly in his early 20s. Just made me think about this unfortunate condition more deeply, y'know?

So I have a little blog on another hairloss site just to keep track of myself over the years by throwing a few pics on there...but haven't dwelt on the subject much for the most part, even if I think of it now and then.

Interestingly enough, my mom found a picture of me recently, when I was 17, and scanned it. I remember when it was taken, just before my senior year of high school in September 1985.

It's interesting, really. I guess I can look at that picture from '85 and compare it to today as I turn 44 next month.

1985

2012

(I've been shaving for decades and I still can't grow facial hair worth a bleep. But it's OK.)

lol is this thread a joke?

You are 44 and have a lot of hair.

I would love to have that much hair at your age.

Well, that old pic that my mom just found put things in perspective for me.

I wasn't really sure if I was thinning or not. Some days I thought I was OK, other days I thought, hmm. Anyway, 1985 to 2012 is a long time to recall things. Pictures say a thousand words, I suppose.

You seem to have very good har for a 44 yo. no sign of recession at all. You're going to upset people on here posting pics like this! I'm 30 and mine is no where near as good

Truth is, hair diameter probably thins out for most people as they age, but you seem to be doing very well in terms of no loss at temples etc.

You have great hair right now. I would recommend not doing anything at this time. You are lucky in this way. Eat good and exercise like crazy and hopefully your hair will never be a problem for you.

Dude, you're at least a Norwood 5. You should have been on finasteride 10 years ago.

You have more hair than I do. I'm 20 years old.
