This sounds ridiculous.

KD you did the right thing. You have a much better chance of your existing hair surviving by going with a smaller procedure while protecting your donor reserve. I would suggest just getting busy and getting on with life not spending too much time looking for the new hairs.

There are only a few top doctors that can provide FUE to almost any patient. The rest just tell them they are not a candidate and strip them out with a nice big ear to ear scar because its easier and faster which means mo money.

What these doctors should be doing is telling the patient I do not have the skill set to offer you FUE please let me recommend someone that does.

The fact is you can have 2000-3000 grafts anytime you want but you do it on your timeline.

It depends on the patient and the goal. A blanket statement just doesn't make sense. Sorry to have been blunt.

There's a guy being treated by Dr Gho who has scarring alopecia who has the same area hair loss as you, he's having 2 lots of 1,600 grafts done performed over a period of 18 months I believe, 2 procedures.

The results in the donor area from his first procedure are amazing, great regrowth of extracted follicles and great results in the recipient area. This patient also had scarring alopecia, so as you can imagine there was literally no hair in the affected areas, nothing, just slick bald.

And you still don't know a thing about Dr. Woods.

Couldnt agree with you more TopCat. I am getting on with life. The hair will come...but at times I am curious. I just want to be as honest as possible with my journey. I know how it feels to be on the otherside not sure what to do except look at your hair disappear.

You see a lot about results but not always about the full journey from start to finish. That is what i hope to achieve by writing these entries. So someone can look back and say ahhh i was there, ok its not that bad....

Anyway TopCat thanks for the kind words again. I could not agree with you more.

Educate me, but unless he clones the hairs I don't see how 500 grafts can achieve the density and coverage that 1500 would in a case such as mine.

I think this is an excellent thread and kd@fuehairtransplanttruth deserves a lot of credit. For a long time I've read about Dr. Woods and how satisfied his patients are with his work. Every thing I've ever read by Dr. Woods suggests that he's skilled, honest and cautious regarding his patients well being.
Before anyone passes a final judgement on kds procedure why not wait for the one year results and see.
