Default Losing Hair Since I Was 16

Hello everyone, my name is Michael, I'm 18 and I've been dealing with hair loss since I was 16. I've always had naturally fine hair and had a mop style with a long fringe, and when I hit 16 I noticed my fringe thinning rapidly. When I discovered this I cut my fringe short and got the rest layered around the sides and back and it looked natural, its when I hit 17 when it really started to get bad. It was mainly on the top where it started thinning and you could see my scalp slightly. I can't tell you how much it messed my life up when that happened, it stopped me from going to college and going out socially, I just felt my life slip away almost over night. Soon as I turned 18 I'd had enough and I started using Rogaine Foam and I couldn't believe the results I got with it, because I have fine hair even a little bit of regrowth made a huge difference and it even made the hair thicker on top than sides and back, however it doesn't grow out, it's basically just thickened the top so I have to get the sides and back cut but not the top. Right now my hair isn't bad but its far from perfect, I'm almost 19 and just thankful I've found something that's helped but I'm now considering propecia to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Welcome to forum. Losing your hair at a young age isn’t easy, but as you found out it can be treated. I’m glad Rogaine is working so well for you and you should consider seeing a doctor about Propecia when you are ready. Now that you feel a bit more comfortable about your hair I hope you can get on with your life. Don't let this stop you from becoming the person you deserve to be.
Good luck!
