    Ecuri: more stamcell snake-oil
Will this just never stop ? I just saw this on the Dutch forums, some Dutch company is selling some stem cell therapy, all proof of course lacks and the company comes out of nowhere. This probably is the most obvious snake-oil therapy so far (website is in Dutch though, so use google translate) -> http://www.ecuri.com/hair-rescue

I guess this is really a trend. We will see more and more snake oil salesmen jumping onto these bandwagons the next few years ...

The second to worst frauds are the ones that hire shills to infiltrate forums masquerading as regularly users. You know the ones, we have two of 'em at the moment on the wider hair loss community, one Israeli, one laser-y.

The absolute worst frauds pose as Doctors to butcher people and permanently endanger the health of their victims.

    greatjob!
HAHA that's great tattoo administered "stem cells", lol. It would be interesting if someone contacted them to ask exactly what method was being used to create these "stem cells", their response would surely be hilarious.

Snake oil in the hair loss industry will never go away, not ever. Just too many reasons why people actually try snake oil: afraid of fin sides, afraid of minox sides, cost, prefer natural cure, nothing else has worked, etc. Most of us fit into one of these categories and unfortunately when we get desperate we will try anything, even though we know better.

The main reason is that there is not a cure.

Imagine something along these lines: you walk into a laboratory; you give a tiny sample of tissue; advanced biotechnology multiplies the sample and differentiates it to create hair follicle-inducing cells; you return after some time; a robot recreates androgen resistant hair follicles on your head using this material. Or, even better: you are administered a medication able to awake all dormant hair follicles and make them androgen resistant, practically reprogramming them in their preadolescence state. One month later you have already 1 cm of thick, 100% natural looking and permanent hair everywhere on your head.

When this happens (hopefully in 4-5 centuries from now), there will be no snake oil anymore. Oh, and baldness will be a thing of history with the status of a curiosity of the nature.

Maybe not 4 -5 centuries from now, but I have a feeling we wont have anything in our lifetimes. I guess the only thing we can really count on in the mean time is a good variety of snake oils.

LOL, yeah when I read that I wasnt sure whether to laugh or cry. Luckily they're so stupid that they're easy to see through. But I bet at the same time they'll take a lot of money from desperate baldies ... It's sad.
