I am planning on getting an FUE treatment of 1300 grafts to the hairline done. How much time should I plan taking off work? When will I be able to go out with my donor area not looking like I had something done? I am planning on keeping my bangs long to cover up the recipient area...so it's not noticeable.

With FUE the healing process in the donor region is relatively quick.
Everything will have healed up within several days and there will be lingering redness for approx 2-3 weeks. The donor hair which has been shaved down for the extraction needs time to grow back to help mask the redness and on average 2-3 weeks is a good window to give yourself for hair to grow to a sufficient length to avoid detection. However everyone is different and their hair grows at different rates.
An idea is to take MSM post op as this will help speed up the growth of the hair shaved down slightly and minimise the time of recovery period. You can also apply Aloe Vera get to the donor area to help speed up the healing process and aid the redness.
A trick is to have your hair and sides/back cut pretty short a few weeks prior to the surgery and keep it this way. People who surround you and interact with you daly will be used to it then and when you return for surgery 2-3 weeks post op your hair will be similar length if not longer in the donor region causing no suspicions regarding the short cut possibly.

10 days post op with very small hand punch with Dr. Bisanga. To date I have had approximately 1000 beard hair grafts from an area around the chin that measures approximately 15 sq cm. Personally I think MSM is complete crap. Get your sulfur naturally through foods like eggs and garlic. Eggs also offer the benefit of cholesterol which is crucial during the healing process.
