I recently went in for a consultation about getting a hair transplant and, thankfully, I was told that I am a candidate. The doctor recommended that I start taking finasteride again for 8 months, monitor the development, and see what I want to do. Just in case I wanted to do the transplant, he drew the hairline he would create (if you want to see my head, I'll link to the post at bottom of this post).
My question is the same as my question in the other forum: isn't it very unadvisable to get a hair transplant that ranges from an inch to a cm around a balding area? There's definitely going to be a very awkward moment in time between my hair falling out behind the transplanted area and before I get another transplant. Despite that, he seemed OK with doing the procedure as did various doctors who responded to my query (see below). Do you guys have any experience?
One workout seems to be to just 'fill in' the crowns and wait to regain the front lock. He wanted to give me one centimeter in front of my current hairline so that he could make the hairline symmetrical.
