I am from New Zealand and also asian that is heading towards your type of loss. Can I just ask your thoughts on future loss. That is one thing from holding me back from a mega session is the crystal ball gazing scenario of in ten or twenty years if you lose more native hair will it look thinner and your thoughts around that whole scenario

How old are you also I am 33 in a few months

I am based in Melbourne as well and planning to get my HT done with Dr.Wong in September. I am glad I came across your inspiring story.

How is the growth so far...It must be good as it is nearly 6 months for u now.

How long did you take time off work/study. I am planning to take break for a week. Hopefully that is sufficient.
Also, I am curious to know whether we get any medical rebate from ATO for HT cost.

Sorry for the late replies I been a real slacker! Let me try answer those questions for you

1. I Never actually met with Dr Wong prior surgery, but I did meet one of his past clients in Melb Australia, its a hard one cause as you know we dont have any real H&W reps out here in AUS. I can assure you that I did allot of research too, that is what you need to do too!. There iare some basic preparation before the procedure but nothing major all that info can be obtained on the Hasson & Wong Web site.

2. As for pricing I'd recomend sending some pics to Joe or Doug at H&W, even better is to call them up, that was a big step for me too. Great people!

3. I stopped using Minoxidil, so I would have to say go for the proscar as its cheaper way cheaper then Propecia & Its the Same DRUG TOO. My best advise is to start taking the Proscar NOW! See how it works for you in the next 5 months or so then consider the HT.

I am new to this site and have few questions regarding this HT.
1) How many times did you meet up with Dr Wong prior to HT? I understand some preparation required to be made before the surgery.
2) How much does it cost for the surgery for 5000+ grafts?(I believe this is the amount extracted from your donor area)
3) What are the medicines used for maintenance, proscar/propecia? any minoxidil?

Really, Where you from? I just did my HT with Dr wong. Balding isn't really in my family I'm the odd one out =(. Few things you need to be asking your self, is the Propecia/ Proscar working? How old are you? if your bellow 28 I'd consider holding off for a bit, no one knows how much more hair there going to lose in the future.

Make sure your taking your medication, you don't want to have a HT and find the Propecia/Proscar isn't working and then find you have to spend a zillon more bucks on another HT.

If your balding is like mine then it shouldn't be to bad.

The more density and laxity the better off, if you got more hairs in a graph then your probably better off then me

This type of thing is a big decision

My hair loss/thinning is almost exactly the same as yours. I visited with Dr Hasson in November and hope to be getting a HT in the near future. I'd like to hear your thoughts especially since your hair loss is almost exactly like mine.
