10-14-2012 03:18 PMdannyfcHows it going Bobby?
3 months now and I'm pretty chuffed with the results. What about you? -
08-14-2012 04:57 PMdannyfcI got a bit paranoid after discovering that PropeciaHelp forum, so I've dropped my dose to 0.5mg for the time being, just to see if its as effective. Do you still find loose hairs when you wash etc. ? I'm still losing hair, but it's without any visible results on my scalp, if that makes any sense.

Must say I'm really impressed with the treatment so far. No side-effects, and no noticeable hair loss in the 5 weeks I've taken it (despite shedding).
Just doing my best to avoid reading all the horror stories that pop up everywhere lol, what about you? -
07-11-2012 03:58 PMdannyfcNice, thats really good to hear regarding the price. Ideally it will only be a couple more years before something even more effective hits the market, so its not too big of a cost.
In terms of effectiveness, how much do you know about Propecia? I'll be honest, all I'm aware of is the possible side effects and that its the only real prevention out there. Do you think it takes a while to take action? Is it likely we'll retain the level of hair we have at the moment, or is it a case of just slowing down the inevitable? -
07-10-2012 12:48 PMdannyfcAll good so far, no loss of libido or anything. Having slight problems getting off to sleep, but i have always had mild insomnia so i dont know how much I can attribute to propecia. My hair is still shedding somewhat, although I think less than before, however that may be more to do with the ketoconazole.
Most of all I'm feeling a lot more positive than I was prior to going on it. Now I'm doing something about it I don't feel as helpless. How about yourself?
Cheers regarding the boots info., I'll take a look. I think £30 is quite reasonable really in truth. -
07-01-2012 04:43 PMdannyfcMy GP prescribed me ketoconazole last Monday, was originally skeptical but it's helped my scalp from itchiness if nothing else.
I've thought about scheduling doses for some time but still haven't decided in truth. It certainly makes more sense to ease into it, but a part of me wants to jump straight in to prevent further loss. I keep fluctuating from utter despair to contentedness with what I have. I think I may take it every other day for the first fortnight, then proceed with how standard dosing.
Online was the only route available to me as my local Boots don't have the staff for it. The privacy is a bonus, but I'd rather have someone to consult with every so often. Quite surprised how easily obtainable the drug is really, I'm lucky I inadvertently discovered the program rather than resort to generic alternatives online.
Is Propecia something you've thought about for a long time? -
07-01-2012 02:54 PMdannyfcTrue enough regarding the 'vocal minority' theory. I remember being hesitant about a medication I had to take in my teens for similar reasons that turned out perfectly fine. At the end of the day, there's nothing to lose really, if there's side effects then you just have to come off it.
In all honesty I have no idea regarding the points, but I'll make note next time I purchase! Definitely worth while keeping tracking off given the long-term extent of it.
Have you already started or awaiting delivery? Think mine must come tomorrow, as it was recorded delivery and got despatched Thursday. -
07-01-2012 06:28 AMdannyfcAh nice to know. How far has your hair loss progressed so far?
I'm a bit nervous regarding the side-effects, also hear there is a fair amount of shedding to begin with which is rather unsettling. Guess there's no other alternative though really.
Good luck -
06-25-2012 12:37 PMmattjHi bobbyt,
All I know about finasteride.info is that numerous people I have spoken to have used it and these include people who I consider reliable. I trust their judgement. So it has a good reputation.
