Thanks for your question. There are several factors that affect scarring - one of which is the OUTER dimension of the punch (typically dimensions that are quoted refer to the inside diameter), another are patient characteristics. Typically a larger punch will increase the chance of a wider scar.

Hi Doc, you had replied to a tread I started recently regarding punch sizes for FUE. would you say the scarring size (white dotting) really has no relationship to the punch size. Of course factoring the O.D. Will a .75mm punch produce the same size scar as a 1mm punch?
