Research and development into stem cells continues apace. Two recent developments suggest that a virtual elimination of permanent hair loss could be on the horizon. First up, a team at Tokyo University has developed a way to create bio-engineered hair follicles, based on our own DNA.

Not only does this development hold the promise of a true baldness cure, it has...

What Does a Hair Transplant Cost and Why?

Posted 09-08-2012 at 01:30 PM by John Frank, MD

That being said, certain hairlines are more irregular than others and for some people the irregularity of their natural hairline can be pronounced and distracting. If this is the case, hair transplantation can be used to "improve"...

Vitamins and Supplements

Posted 04-12-2011 at 03:57 PM by Sara Wasserbauer, MD

So, I am a big fan of B vitamins, specifically B-12 (which must be taken daily as a tablet that dissolves under your tongue or as a shot every 3-6 months). B-12 deficiency causes hair loss and many people are chronically deficient without knowing it. I also like;
-Zinc,
-iron (in low doses of 15-50 mg because it is absorbed better and particularly...
