Im another hair transplant fool who did the deed and now I have a huge strip scar I have to live with. Did it when I was 23 I'm 29 now. After reading the permanent impotence stuff about finasteride I decided its time to get off it. I dont care if its 8% or less, if I couldnt bang and had to live with this scar I'd lose it haha.
I know I'm gonna lose my hair now I'm a stage 2 atm just receding no crown trouble yet. I shaved my head with a 3.75 guard whatever that translates too and u could see my scar for 2 weeks. And swimming forget it.. so lame. I wore a hat and hid cuz no one knows what I did.
To guys out there, especially young, dont ever do a strip transplant, ever! mutilating yourself for hair is the pure dumb I promise. Wish I woulda just shaved it thats all I wanna do now.
Anyway, I've been to the 3 major micropigment sites and I'm def getting my scar done and hoping for the best. I was hoping maybe guys who had there scar done would post some pics. I've seen all the ones on the sites of course, but I'm sure they are presenting their best work. Some really arent that good either. Was hoping I could maybe see some everyday dudes posting their own pics.
I thank anyone who might do this in advance.
If anyone has any other scar tricks I'd like to hear those too.
Also some of the fighting and bickering and shill calling Ive seen is so corny can that just not happen? idc who u do or dont work for if you have pics and insight thats all I care about

I think you should get Fraxel Scar Repair first. I'm considering the same thing - but also thinking I might try nanogen fibers first...
I think do it!!!

Doesn't this depend on who you go to? Did you go to one of the doctors who are generally well regarded on hair transplant forums, such as this one?

I saw an awesome doc. And I'm pretty sure I still have a shitty scar.
As a veteran / victim of bad choices... Your choices are FUE with Cole or Umar or Gho. Or an ugly scar for life.... Or until you conceal it with something like SMP.

Kiwi, this doesn't seem to mesh with my research. Some of the better surgeons appear to be able to perform FUT and leave patients happy with the visibility of the scar. If not, there is always the option to FUE into it.

You should do more research.
"There's always the option to FUE into it"... well I've thought about that. And as a guy that has spent 15k + on 3000 or so grafts... I wish I'd just gone FUE and had no scar.
Now that I have a scar and can't afford another FUT transplant I don't want to spend more money putting FUE into my scar - I wish I'd just done FUE and put that to "good" use in my recipient area.
FUT is shit. If you want FUE goto Cole / Umar / Gho and don't waste your precious grafts by putting them into a freaking scar you could have gone without.
At the end of the day, I'm just trying to put on a brave face, I'm going to wait out this year and see what happens with Aderans and Histogen. Hopefully they will annouce something positive and then I'll just wait for them to goto market.
BUT if I was going to get a HT and had a virgin head like you. I'd be getting FUE from day 1.
You do FUT now... don't come crying back here because you've been totally told brother :)

Actually one more thing. It also depends on how much money you - if you get 3000 grafts by any approved HT docs (no matter who they are), if you experience side effects with Fin, don't do it...
I can't use fin because I LOVE sex.
So. I wish the so called docs had actually taken into account when I said that I get side effects from fin. If you get side effects you should see a doc that takes that into account in a master plan.
Only a small percentage of my 3000 grafts grew. So now I'm stuck with a fcukng thin fringe that shapes my head but bugger all behind it. I wish I'd gone with a more sparing approach - perhaps widows peak or something that you can still style.
God knows. But if you have fin side effects... and can only afford around 3000 grafts you're screwed.
DONT DO FUT IF THIS IS YOU!!!!

Gho is the best choice IMO.
Chrisis, if I were you, I would go to Gho, and then wait for HSC.
Histogen is making headwaves, and worst case with Gho (if you dont regenerate donor hair), you will have zero scarring. It is less invasive then FUE.
If you do regenerate your donor, then I reckon you can hold off taking propecia.
Who was your surgeon?
And is fin this shit for everybody?

I agree. Go Gho. Or even Cole or Umar.
I'm also angry that I didnt go Gho from the start. AND that he's such a fcukng rip off and won't share his technique.
I stand by my anti IP morals. He was taught FUE because a non douche bag HT doctor didnt patent FUE in the first place. If the FUE founder had... THERE WOULD BE NO GHO.
Oh and if you disagree with me and my anti IP and copyright law stance then you obviously don't mind that SkinMedica took Histogen to court and delayed their product release by at least 1 or 2 years...

I don't think this guy even needs donor regeneration.
Just get a nice FUE at Feriduni if you don't like gho because your hairloss is so slow you will be nw 4 by the time you're 49.

LOL - I don't think I'd say Cole is regenerating donor hair. That is unsubstantiated and not scientifically proven - its not even proven that Gho is.
But if Gho is... IF he is... and IF cole is now following suit and doing what Gho is doing... then that is great news.

I love the crap out of Gho.
He's just a money grabbing douche bag that doesnt care about your hair loss - or the industry in general.
Heh - see I reckon Histogen should ban Gho from using HSC so he can suck those apples down!

Cole said 60% donor hair, is lying?
TBH if Gho was a fraud, we would have heard something by now.
I think people are expecting him to turn a NW7 into a NW1, which will take 10 years given he only does 1500-2000 grafts per session.
And in comparison to rooney, Sniejders HT is miles better.

What if he loses hair behind the hairline before AND IF HSC comes out?
He aint on propecia, that is the only thing putting me off Feriduni. Who otherwise I would go to.

I think some of you don't seem to take into account individual cases, and past bad experience might lead to some bias.
I haven't been impressed by any hairlines by Gho and that's a big priority for younger guys. My hair loss is limited to my hairline and if it progresses in the same manner as it did for my maternal grandfather and uncle, I'm not headed towards the high end of the Norwood scale.
I tend to be wary of blanket statements that don't take into account the specifics of individuals, in terms of current hair loss and goals. I'm not discounting some of you had bad experiences either, but please don't write off doctors who seem to have plenty of evidence supporting their good work.

If you aint on Propecia... (caus of effects) and you get an FUT then you are a bloody idiot. Its as simple as that.

Use yer noggin mate. If you're not on Fin then you are going to keep loosing hair so eventually you'll be left with thin hair all over - and an FUT scar. Its just common sense and logic.
So in that sense use Gho. Or maybe Cole. Or wait until Histogen / Aderans annouce something positive and wait. Don't play your cards now - its too early and will cost you a lot of money.
Anyway you asked about SMP. And the answer is yes. Do it. But get Fraxel scar recovery done first.

What nw was your uncle or grandfather? I also had uncles who will die as nw3s and lion king with thick mane grandfathers, that don't mean anything brother.
But because your DHT is very low, you will most likely slowly go to your genetic make up which could nw7. Nobody knows.

LOL - probably quite badly.
I got 3200 grafts in the USA. And 700 in Australia. In theory if I let all my hair fall out I should have around 3900 hairs. But I already know I don't. So I'm going to let my hair loss progress (try and stay happy) and then I'll start to tell my story visually with photos online.
Like.... IS THIS WHAT YOU CALL 3900 grafts?!?!?
And then I'll show my story.
Unless of course Histogen or Aderans come to my rescue first :))

Well I cope right. One has to cope. I feel embarrassed that I've got a FUT scar and that I can't just simply shave my head.
I hate my hairloss and I'm pretty depressed about it. BUT I'm also an optimist in life... so I feel like I'm getting pulled in two directions and its killing me and making it hard to be an optimist :P
I think if I could use propecia or if there was something else on offer - just to arrest my condition I'd be a lot happier.

How many grafts you got left?
If Gho is proven right, maybe you can be cured broseph.

I'm not on finasteride because of side effects. There's no way I'd ever go back to it.
As for Gho, I mentioned before I haven't seen anything impressive in terms of hairline, which is my number 1 priority. I really don't care if he can save 1000 grafts if I have seen no evidence that he is in the league of Dr Rahal and Dr Feller in terms of producing good hairlines. I seriously couldn't be any less interested. I haven't spent 6 months researching the best doctors, just to abandon all of that because of a new technique by a doctor that can't prove he can give me the result I'm looking for.

My maternal uncle and grandad (I think the maternal aspect is important) both just had NW3. I'm currently at NW2ish, and I'm heading to 30.
One important consideration I have is the slow rate of my balding. If I can buy almost 3000 grafts FUT now into the frontal area, I reckon it could get me 10 years or more.
If my scar is bad, I have options to treat that... but I'm going with one of the best doctors so hopefully it won't be.
If my balding increases, I can just go somewhere local and get FUE into any sparse areas. Also we're clearly quite optimistic about forthcoming treatments, so that encourages me as well.
Those are my thoughts.

Problem is, your hairloss may be slow now, but in the future may pick up.
And I think even though gho isn't ideal, it will still be an improvement to what you have now. You will have more hair at your hairline - all you will need to spend time doing is styling it.

I'm not sure if there is a correct answer for individual cases at this specific point in time.
Sure, maybe I will be proven right or wrong with regard to my personal strategy, but nobody can tell me for sure right now 1) how my hair loss will progress and 2) the availability and effectiveness of future treatments. These are both crucial to my decision. Personally I'm optimistic on both 1) and 2), which is why I'd lean towards getting myself a "world class" standard hairline, rather than going for a more conservative approach.

But it is risky given that I will be down 2000 donar hair on the fue alone

I hear you on the hairline. I feel much the same about that because I'd rather have a great hairline and thin crown than even coverage all over and a weak hairline if future treatments don't pan out, donor remains limited and we can't maintain.
Ideally Histogen just saves our asses in 2016 and all we need is 2000 FUE, happy days, but that seems far too good to be true.
